Dentists Suffer

Majority of dentists suffer from some type of dental disease themselves. Dental disease’s can be caused by several different factors that affect teeth, gums and the mouth. Early detection of dental disease depends on proper oral care, making sure there is no hidden infection, which could lead to tooth loss.

When the dentist cannot simply remove the offending tooth, surgical treatment is necessary. The underlying problem must resolve itself before the surgery is performed, otherwise it might take longer to recover and heal.

The following are different types of operations used: 1) Extraction 2) Filling 3) Dental crown 4) Dental root canal 5) Dental implants 6). Extractions- in this type of treatment, all infected tissue is extracted from the area around the tooth. If roots are exposed or damaged, they are extracted as well.

Before surgery is performed, the dentist will ensure that you are healthy enough, and that the underlying illness or condition causing the dental disease has been resolved.

After surgery, it may take a few days for you to recover from the operation, depending on how complicated it was. Your dentist will instruct you on what foods can be eaten after surgery and when to begin eating them again. Also, your dentist will provide instructions on proper oral hygiene, specifically how often you should brush and floss your teeth. If it hasn't been resolved, there is a risk that the infection will spread to other areas of your body. The dentist might recommend taking antibiotics before surgery to reduce this risk. Dental disease is a common type of disease that affects teeth in the mouth. There are several ways to treat these diseases. Dentists normally recommend prevention methods because they are the easiest to follow, less painful and least expensive.

If the tooth has been removed with a prosthetic and you need to replace it with a new one, you will be referred to an oral surgeon for the procedure. In most cases, the first teeth and first dentists tend to be the worst.
